Goth Pokemon: Gothita, Gothorita, and Gothitelle

Hello Everyone!

Its me May again, posting late as usual. I really need to break out of my procrastinating habit. It is messing with my life, like really bad. So I need to set small goals to better myself. And the first step is to quit being a lazy person. So enough of me rambling here, and on with this weeks topic.

Goth Pokémon

Could there be such a thing as gothy Pokémon?
Oh yes there is! If anyone still keeps track of Pokémon there are new Pokémon like in every generation and in the fifth generation there are indeed Goth Pokémon. I actually still watch Pokémon to this day, mainly because I want to see how it ends. And because it is undeniably a childhood favorite. But I really have no idea if they ever do plan on ending the Pokémon series. And I am also proud to say that I do own three Nintendo DS Pokémon games.

Now I am going to put pictures of the new Goth Pokémon. Gothita is the first pokemon. Second is Gothorita the evolution of Gothita. Lastly is Gothitelle the evolution of Gothorita.

As from what we can see firsthand on the looks of these Pokémon is that their looks concede with the Gothic Lolita fashion movement in Japan. Which to say that I am very much in love with Japanese fashion! It is so inspiring to see people over there be very creative with the clothing and makeup that they wear! But now to talk about the Gothic Lolita fashion style. It primarily consists of a Neo Victorian fashion aesthetic. Clothing consists of Victorian doll-like dresses with a lot of ruffles and bows. Just like these three Pokémon are wearing, and they also have doll-like hair. As for Gothita and Gothorita they have bows on their hair which is also a fashion accessory used in Gothic Lolita fashion style. From all three of the Pokémon Gothorita is my favorite! I think it was nice for Pokémon to create Goth Pokémon because that shows that the Gothic subculture is pretty big, and that it even inspires very famous franchises like Pokémon which is a pretty worldwide known gaming industry. And another bonus that I loved about the Pokémon franchise making these Pokémon was that it also introduces little kids to Goth and so that they can have a look at it firsthand. Why is this one important?  Its important because it shows the kiddie audience that Goth isn't a weird and creepy thing as to what the media and society makes everyone think. Like on my Facebook profile I had posted a picture I had found on Tumblr about the different perspectives of what society, media, parents, and friends perspectives on what they think Goth is. It was mostly for humor, but a very accurate picture indeed! And another thing that I love when cartoons show Gothy characters in their shows is that it makes kids aware of different fashions and it makes them more open minded about the whole fashion aesthetic that other people wear.

So I hope this post was worth reading and informative as well. What do you think about this? And how do you feel about Pokémon making Goth Pokémon? Do you like it or not? Comment down below! Until the next week's post, in which I hope I will write in time!

Shopping for Gothicly Inclined Clothing? Where to Go?

Hello Everyone!

Its me May again and I'm ready to post this weeks topic late as usual. Sorry about that! Its just lately I have been applying to all the stores nearby my house because well I need a new job. We all need money to buy all of that super cute clothing. and accessories It doesn't pay itself, and surely money does not grow on trees. That is unless your parents have great paying jobs and you get a pretty good amount of weekly allowance. If then that is your case, you are so lucky! Unlike the rest of us have to get jobs to actually buy the things we want. But then there are always the sad cases where parents do have the money to buy their kids clothing, but refuse to because they think being Goth is a really bad thing. And thus do not want their kids to dress Goth. I will write a post about this issue as well.

This week's topic is going to be about where to shop for Gothicly inclined clothing. I honestly go to so many different stores! So I buy my clothing from many diverse places. But the place that takes 50% of where my clothing comes from are thrift stores. Why thrift stores? Because the clothing there is so affordable and you can guarantee you will find a lovely piece to add to your wardrobe to spoof up that closet of yours. But of course thrift stores are very inexpensive because it is a secondhand clothing store and therefore its clothing and items are used. But you can still find clothing in mint condition and it is very affordable. I usually go to a thrift store that's like 15 minutes away walking with my mom and were always shopping for clothing. But a little piece of advice not all thrift stores have the same prices. some can be quite expensive. Because I go to two different ones. The one that I usually go to is the one with the more green friendly prices. And the  other one I go to once in a while has their prices a little more up, but it is still pretty affordable. Because one time I went to the Buffalo Exchange thrift store, and I could not believe their prices! It was really overpriced. I was like "Seriously?! For used clothing you charge this much!" Although I will mention it had a lot of nice clothing, so I guess there one of the better thrift stores. Although there are other thrift stores like Plato's Closet and Goodwill, which I might add I have never went to those because they are really far away from where I live by. So I have no idea how much they charge. I just checked on Google maps to see where those stores are at, turns out that all of the Goodwills in Houston (since I live in Houston) all ten of them are on the West Houston area and there are no Goodwills on the East Houston are where I live at. Technically Southeast Houston but still, I am pretty disappointed that all of them are on the West area and not a single one on the East side. Total bummer! And as for Plato's Closet there isn't a single one in Houston! There is one by the Pasadena area but that isn't Houston anymore so that does not count.

As for the rest of the little stores that I go to I usually go to small shopping centers because they have good prices and for a piece of new clothing you can't beat that! A tip is that you and a few friends should just drive around town shopping together and see what small shopping centers you will encounter along the way. And trust me go to all of the stores. You never know what you will find in each of the stores. And personally I just love going to every single store, but that's just me. Going to the malls are good too, if you know which are the stores that don't sell overpriced clothing. But it is nice to splurge once in a while and treat yourself to something neat from the mall. But don't do it too much because you will be broke in a few shopping stops. And you want to buy as much as you want without emptying your wallet right away. Some mall stores that I personally like are Charlotte Russe, Forever 21, and Express.

Another way of shopping is internet shopping. Ebay is a really great choice because you don't pay shipping in some items, or if you do it might not be much either. Amazon is pretty good, but you still have to pay shipping even though it might say free shipping, because they get the stuff from companies/warehouse (that sort of thing). And for Ebay I like shopping from storekeepers from Asia, New York, and Los Angeles because they have they have the best prices ever! And most of the time the shipping is free, which is a big plus for me! Like two weeks ago I bought two pairs of spiderweb fishnet pantyhose for like $2.30 and the shipping was like $1.00. so in total that was like $5.00 of pantyhose, and normally at the store just one pair would cost $6 plus tax.

So now that I mentioned where I usually go shopping at now I'm going to share of what are the type of things that I usually look for in clothing when I go shopping. If any of you watch Goth Youtuber Kazlovesbats's (one of my favourite Youtubers by the way) video about shopping for Gothicly inclined clothing (Don't remember the exact name of the video) she also mentions going to thrift stores are like the best thing as well. And she also mentions what types of fabric you should look for while shopping at any type of store. The fabrics that she talks about are transparent/see through flowy fabrics, mesh, fishnet, a lot of Victorian like blouses that have many ruffles on them, and a lot of lace as well. She also mentioned velvet, but personally I do not like velvet, but for any of you all who does, keep an eye out if you like that too! Also look for skirts as well, or if you like pants instead then look for that too! Personally I am a skirt girl, I never wear pants. And when I do I feel so weird! Well I wear them on the house, but that's just on the house. But while I am outside out and about town I am always wearing skirts 100%.
So I pretty much look for the same things that she does, because it is true and she is right on the types of fabrics to look for while shopping.

Here is the link to Kazlovesbats's video:

Of course the video is Kazlovesbats (Allison Eckfeldt) So this video is hers and I am just linking this video so you can watch it and see what she has to say on the subject.

I'm going to post a few pictures. Enjoy! :)
